TransCyrillic® Converter

Are You Ready To Move To Unicode-Encoded Cyrillic Fonts?

for Windows

for Macintosh

What are others saying about these fonts? What are others saying?

Now You Can Easily Convert Your ASCII-Encoded Cyrillic II and TransCyrillic Files To Our Unicode-Encoded TransCyrillic In Unicode Fonts Using The TransCyrillic Converter.

TransCyrillic Converter will allow you to convert text typed with Linguist's Software Cyrillic II and TransCyrillic (ASCII-encoded) fonts to the new Unicode-encoded fonts in TransCyrillic in Unicode. The converter is a series of macros embedded in a Microsoft Word file. You simply copy the appropriate macro(s) into each of your Word files that contain Cyrillic II and/or TransCyrillic text and run the macro(s) to convert the text to the Unicode-encoded values of the TransCyrillic in Unicode fonts. The macros do not affect any other text in your files except the Cyrillic II or TransCyrillic text, allowing you to retain your file's original formatting. The TransCyrillic Converter makes a daunting task simple. Complete instructions are included in the TransCyrillic Converter User's Manual.

TransCyrillic Converter for Windows

TransCyrillic Converter for Windows

TransCyrillic Converter for Windows includes macros to convert Cyrillic II and TransCyrillic (ASCII-encoded) text to TransCyrillic in Unicode (Unicode-encoded) fonts. For example, you can convert all the Cyrillic II text in a Word document to TransCyrillicU with a single click.

Windows System Requirements:

  • bulletOperating System
    1. bulletRequires Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, NT 4.0, Me, 98, or 95. But note that TransCyrillic in Unicode (the fonts to which you are converting the files) requires Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, or NT 4.0 for keyboard support. So even though you may run the Converter in earlier versions of Windows you will need the later versions of Windows to work with the converted files. (See TransCyrillic in Unicode for Windows for details.)
  • bulletApplications
    1. bulletRequires Microsoft Word 2013, 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002 (XP), 2000, or 97. The files you are going to convert must be Word for Windows files, since the macros are Word macros embedded in a Word file.
  • bulletFonts
    1. bulletRequires one or more of the Cyrillic II and/or TransCyrillic (ASCII-encoded) fonts from Linguist's Software and the corresponding Unicode-encoded font from the TransCyrillic in Unicode for Windows product. Note you must install both the ASCII-encoded (Cyrillic II and/or TransCyrillic) font(s) that you used to type your file(s) and the corresponding Unicode-encoded (TransCyrillicU) fonts to which you are converting the files.
    2. bulletThe TransCyrillic ASCII-encoded fonts used in your documents must be version 8.0 (dated June 16, 1997) or newer to be successfully converted. If your fonts are older than version 8.0 you must first update TransCyrillic and convert your documents to the new version of the ASCII-encoded fonts following instructions in the Troubleshooting Manual. Then the TransCyrillic Converter can be used to convert your documents to the Unicode-encoded version of TransCyrillic.
    3. bulletHow do I find the version number?
  • bulletDocumentation
    1. bulletAll documentation is in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, so Adobe Reader must be installed on your computer. If you do not already have it installed, you can download Adobe Reader free from the Adobe web site.
